Cape Winelands District Municipality's support significant to the project's successIn April this year, the Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) once again pledged their support to the Fundi training project and their long term commitment to addressing not only unemployment, but also upliftment in terms of skills and job creation. As a member of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network Cape Town Chapter, the CWDM also acknowledges the value to the wine tourism industry if staff are properly trained and offer an informed and professional service. This is the 3rd donation since the project's inception in 2008 and literally hundreds of learners have been transformed into competent wine waiters in the Cape Winelands, which stretches from Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek, Wellington, through to Tulbagh, Breedekloof, Worcester, Robertson with trainers attending from as far as Montagu and Bonnievale. Wines of South Africa and the industry as a whole, are grateful for this generosity, which not only helped to speed up the training and achieve a wider reach, but has also significantly brought down the amount of wine we needed to sell.
